Gentle Dental Care: Combatting Dental Fears with a Different Kind of Dentist
“My teeth are the worst the dentist has ever seen; I feel guilty, ashamed, and scared of ‘The Lecture.’ I’m worried that the dentist will berate me, humiliate me, or judge me.” –Anonymous
Are you embarrassed to come to the dentist? You’re not alone. In fact, embarrassment is the most common dental phobia voiced by people who haven’t been to a dentist in a very long time, or even by people who have. The good news is, there is no reason to feel embarrassed.
At Coddington Dental, we believe in an open communication and judgement-free zone. We strive to make dental appointments a positive experience for all, no matter the condition of your teeth or the time between appointments.
Embarrassment comes in all forms. Whether you have been ignoring a dental problem, an ache, or feel as if you haven’t been caring for your teeth as you should, Dr. Jodi Day will be happy to help. Remember, while you cannot change the past, you can change how the past makes you feel now. Dr. Day will not think, “I can’t believe it’s been so long since he has been to a dentist,” but rather, “I am proud of him for taking the first step towards good oral health.”
Once you gather the courage to come to our office, we will welcome you with kindness and you can finally get the treatment you want and deserve to have. When you come in, you can feel proud of yourself for overcoming a challenge that once seemed impossible.
If you have a dental phobia, we’re here for you. We look forward to seeing you at Coddington Dental.
Breathe a Sigh of Relief and Relax
Relaxation is necessary for a comfortable dental experience. Our gentle dental philosophy means we play relaxing music, offer television programs, and at times burn scented candles to hide any clinical smells. Sedation dentistry is also a practice at our facility, where we provide several sedative options to relax you during your time with us. We strive to put you at ease every time you’re with us. The sedation pill can help patients relax during their gentle dental appointment. Some patients fall asleep– and some stay awake but relaxed. Taking this pill is proven to be a safe way for the ones that seek sedation dentistry.
Advanced Techniques: Gentle Injections
Before any injection, we will apply a numbing gel to your gums. We give injections at a slow pace, which reduces pressure and makes the injection more comfortable. During the numbing process, we visit with our patients to distract them from the process of injection. This three-step process works wonderfully.
Our team genuinely cares and always goes out of our way to ensure you feel at ease. We take the time to understand all of your concerns. Come to our relaxing, comfortable environment to help improve your health with the most advanced processes. We are the gentle dental place in Lincoln, NE.
We are one of 5 locations within the Lincoln area who would provide sedation dentistry for your gentle dental experience. Visit our “book appointment” page to discover more about the other dental practices.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Wishing you health and happiness,
Dr. Jodi Day
